A message from Marty . . .

My name is Marty Stone and I have practiced law in central Florida for over a decade. I started the Law Office of M.A. Stone, LLC on January 1, 2012 to serve individuals and businesses in the various legal challenges they face. My education and experience as an attorney and businessman gives me a unique perspective on the various matters on which I advise my clients.

The Firm can handle any legal matter that your business faces, whether you are a sole proprietorship, a partnership, a company with one employee, or a large company employing thousands of individuals. The Firm represents individuals as well, in anything from simple estate planning, to contract disputes, to real estate matters, landlord / tenant issues, collections matters, or any civil or commercial issue you might be facing.

I invite you to peruse this website and contact me in the event I can be of service to you.

About My Experience . . .

After graduating with honors from the University of Miami School of Law, I moved to Orlando where I practiced with the law firm of Greenspoon Marder, P.A. During the years I practiced with Greenspoon Marder, I handled a wide range of matters for a variety of clients, ranging from individuals to entrepreneurs to various business entities. My business clients ranged from small, local businesses to large corporations with thousands of employees operating throughout the United States and in foreign countries. I gained valuable experience in transactional matters, litigation matters, and local, state, and federal regulatory matters. Eventually, I began to focus my practice on regulatory compliance and defense matters related to advertising and marketing in the hospitality industry. Despite that focus, I also continued to represent various individuals and a wide spectrum of businesses, including an international banking client engaged in lending to foreign individuals purchasing real property in Florida.

After over eight years with Greenspoon Marder, P.A. I left the firm to become the Senior Vice President and General Counsel for a conglomerate of hospitality companies that owned or operated over a dozen vacation resort properties located throughout the continental United States and Hawaii. In this position, I oversaw the legal department staff of attorneys and paralegals, and guided all legal aspects of the multiple entities that comprised the enterprise. I was directly involved in all legal aspects of the businesses, including acquisitions and divestitures, complex, multi-million dollar financing transactions, sales and marketing activities, labor and employment matters and other human resources issues, collection practices, workers compensation matters, governmental relations, local licenses and permits, contract negotiation and drafting, foreclosure matters, community association matters, and litigation matters pending in state and federal courts across the country. I regularly communicated with and advised the directors and officers of the companies regarding strategy for long term growth and development of the companies as well as day to day legal matters. I also worked regularly with outside counsel on various cases pending in Florida and other states. I left this position at the end of 2011 and started this law firm.

About My Education . . .

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with a major in Finance and Banking from the University of Missouri – Columbia. I also obtained a Master of Science in Finance degree from Florida International University. During my second summer of law school, I clerked for then-Senator John Ashcroft on the United States Senate Judiciary Committee, Subcommittee on the Constitution, Federalism and Property Rights. Mr. Ashcroft went on to become the Attorney General of the United States. During that time, I reported directly to Mr. Paul Clement, who at that time served as majority counsel to the Subcommittee. Mr. Clement went on to become the Solicitor General of the United States.

Prior to entering law school, I worked in the Trust Department of Coconut Grove Bank, in Miami, Florida and then in the accounting and finance departments of J.I. Kislak Mortgage Corporation, located in Miami Lakes, Florida. I grew up in Missouri and presently live in Orlando, Florida with my wife and 3 young children.
